 If you are being investigated by a police officer for domestic battery, do the following:

 Always say you did not hit your partner if it is true. Other than that, never admit that you did anything wrong. Silence is an acceptable response, such as “I do not wish to give a statement”.

 If you are accused of hitting your partner, and there is no outward signs of bruises, cuts,  blood or injury, take a photo of your partner at the points of your partner’s body where your partner indicates you had hit him or her.

• Get phone numbers of all witnesses who will testify in your favor.
